June 2 - Volunteer at a Local Aid Center
Take a moment and see how you can volunteer and get involved with a local aid center. With all the blessing we are often given, it is nice to give back!
June 3 - Go on a Nature Walk
Explore a new path or park today and see what treasures you can find!
June 4 - Learn How to use a Compass Today
Teaching children how to use a compass is more than just a practical skill. It’s an invitation to slow down, observe carefully, and engage deeply with the world around them. The best outdoor toys for kids are the ones that nurture independence and confidence and transform a simple walk in the woods into an adventure. And not to mention, compass skills are wonderfully simple.
June 5 - Visit a Local Farmer's Market
Visit a local farmer’s market and explore fresh, seasonal foods. Let kids pick out fruits, vegetables, or treats while meeting the people who grow them.
June 6 - Paint Summer Strawberries
Spring planting brings summer's bounty, and we can't wait to harvest tasty vegetables and ripe fruits. Today our friend Sunny is teaching us how to make a picture-perfect pint of wooden strawberries. Display these cute berries on your nature table or use them for imaginary play!

June 7 - Build a Block Tower
There’s something quietly powerful about a child at work with a set of wooden blocks. A tower rises, topples, and rises again. Wooden blocks may look simple, but they are rich tools for learning, imagination, and growth. From the earliest stacks to elaborate structures dreamed up by older kids, block play helps children develop essential skills in a natural and fun way.
June 8 - Craft a Sun Stone
Welcome back the sun with this craft! Today on the blog our sweet friend Laura, @cosy.waldorf.fam, has created this craft for us. The Sun Stones is a very easy handwork project, also suitable for little children. It offers a wonderful sensory experiences but also the stone itself has great value, once felted. It is a reminder that the sun is always there, even on cloudy days.

June 9 - Have a Summer Dance Party
Enjoy the sun and get dancing with our bright playlist!
June 10 - Craft Felt Fairy Wings for Mini Dolls
With just a few simple materials and some creativity, you can elevate small world play while inviting storytelling, creativity, and hands-on making.

June 11 - Take a Yoga Class
Stretch your muscles and try to learn a new move as you relax and move your body.
June 12 - Make Sunprint Greeting Cards
This vibrant activity is perfect for an afternoon spent crafting in nature! Start your day on a nature walk and collect little treasures along the way. Then after making your sunprints, turn them into a sweet greeting card to share with family and friends.

June 13 - Go Swimming
Splash! It's time to hit the beach, pool or stream. Enjoy the water as the days get hotter and see how fast you can swim.
June 14 - Decorate With DIY Flower Suncatchers
We love this sweet project from Sunny of Northwoodsfolk and we think it's the perfect kick-off to summer. With flowers and botanicals gathered from your own garden, a hike, or a trip to the farmers market- this craft is certainly perfect for Solstice! We love every little detail and we know you will too.

June 15 - Have a Color of the Day Party
Today's color is purple! Have a day filled party with purple.
June 16 - Bake Sun Bread
Get ready for the summer solstice. The summer solstice is an ancient celebration that has been honored throughout history to celebrate the full return of the sun's light. Many different cultures celebrate this longest day of the year, and it has become a special part of the Waldorf wheel of the year. Summer solstice is the perfect opportunity to give thanks to our Earth and all that it provides.

June 17 - Make a DIY Stick Fort
Get outside in the sunshine and build your very own Tree Hut Hideaway! This sweet craft from our friend Mollie, @modest_mollie, is the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful summer season.

June 18 - Craft Your Own Sundial
As children begin to notice where the sun sits, time becomes something they can see and feel. When it is high overhead, it might be time to head in for lunch. As it drifts lower, perhaps a snack is in order. By late afternoon, the lengthening shadows gently signal that the day is winding down. It is a playful, grounding way to connect with the natural rhythm of the day while discovering how people once kept time long before clocks were part of everyday life.

June 19 - Make a Beach Themed Picture Frame
Inspired by the ocean, this simple craft invites us to bring a bit of the beach home. Using gathered seashells and a favorite photo or drawing, children can create a one-of-a-kind picture frame that celebrates summer memories.

June 20 - Make Summer Sail Boats
Father's Day is here and we're celebrating with a special tutorial that's great to give a paternal figure in your life - or to simply make with your children.
This craft requires you to scavenge for materials in nature. Matt Shelton of Waldorf Dads created this just for us and our Bella Luna Toys community.

June 21 - Summer Solstice
Summer solstice is the perfect opportunity to give thanks to our Earth and all that it provides. Franzi Shelton created this beautiful moving picture mealtime blessing to celebrate the solstice.

June 22 - Have a Meditation Moment
Take a few quiet moments to sit, breathe, and relax together. Notice your breath, the sounds around you, or how your body feels. Even a short pause can help bring focus to your day.
June 23 - Make Summer Ice Potions
Ice potions are a fun and whimsical way to stay cool in the summer heat. Add a bit of sparkle and fizz to make these fairy ice potions a truly magical experience.

June 24 - Make Rainbow Play Dough
This vibrant activity not only ignites children's creativity but also nurtures their sensory development and fine motor skills. June 28 - First Week of Summer Book Club
We love reading all year long but summer reading really warms our hearts! Having a bag full of great books when heading to the beach or the park is a recipe for a perfect summer day in our book. Add some drawing, writing, crafting, and exploring and you have one of our favorite events of the Bella Luna Toys calendar. Believe it or not, it is our 5th year of this special book club that brings together great books and projects to make summer even sunnier.

June 30 - Craft Summer Peg Fairies
We love celebrating summer sprites come June 24th which is international Fairy Day! In celebration, we asked Margaret Bloom, author of Making Peg Dolls, to create a tutorial that's as magical as the fairies themselves.
