St. Nicholas is, of course, the real-life inspiration for the modern idea of Santa Claus and the tradition of gift-giving at Christmas time. On December 13th families across the globe celebrate Santa Lucia Day, or the Festival of Lights. This beloved European tradition is meant to bring hope and light during the darkest time of the year and mark the beginning of the Christmas season. December 15 - Felt Waldorf Snowy Children

On a cold and snowy day, we got cozy by the fireplace and crafted these sweet felt Waldorf snowflake children. These small handmade dolls fit perfectly in a child's hand and are great to add to a gnome or fairy house or even hang in your windows. The holidays always comes with gifts, and sometimes you outgrow old ones. Now is a good time to take a moment and donate any unused toys to a local shelter so that they may be used and loved again.

December 30 - Paint a Winter Scene

The winter landscape offers beautiful inspiration for your paint! Sit by the window and paint the scene (add you own touches for a winter wonderland all your own).
