January 1 - Make Your 2025 Dream List
When it comes to celebrating the New Year, we love to slow down and reflect on the time gone by and write down our favorite moments from 2024. Then, we like to write a dream list for moments we would like to have in 2025. For example to laugh often, sleep well, and eat delicious food! From all of us at Bella Luna Toys we wish you a very happy New Year.
January 2 - Make Beeswax Lip Balm

January 3 - Weave Your Own Treasure Pouch
In Waldorf education’s artistic curriculum, handwork is essential. Handwork includes painting, knitting, weaving and many more practical and creative skills. Children will learn the in’s and out’s of weaving throughout their years at a Waldorf school, but weaving at home is just as fun and simple. Find the guide HERE.
January 4 - Have a Dance Party to Your Favorite Songs
We love dancing the day away to our favorite songs. Need a little inspiration for your dance party? We put together a short playlist to get your dancing feet started!
January 5 - Thank You Notes
Just in case you haven’t thanked everyone for their holiday gifts, now is a great time to create some thank you cards and to have extras for the year ahead. You can create your own printed designs using potato prints or even make recycled paper following the instructions find the tutorial HERE.
January 6 - Follow Animal Tracks
Winter is a perfect time for identifying animal tracks and following these prints in the snow. There are four major kinds of track patterns; hoppers, walkers, bounders, and waddlers! Bring your notebook and become an animal track investigator. (If you live in a non-snowy place, you can still find tracks in the dirt.)
January 7 - Fold Winter Kite Paper Stars
Tis the season to string the lights and celebrate the glimmering stars and snowflakes that make this time of year so magical. To add an extra dose of seasonal beauty, whether to hang above a winter nature table or to add some festivity to your front windows, these easy to make and enduring kite paper stars are a beautiful way to transmit the light and allow your children to help with the decorating. January 8 - Take Care of the Birds
The birds need our love in the winter. Make a bird feeder or make sure to keep the ones you already have filled up, so the birds have plenty of food to get through the cold days.
January 9 - Make a Cozy Fort
Make a cozy winter fort with playsilks and lots of blankets and bring a flashlight for an extra snuggly spot to play and tell stories.
January 10 - Make a Winter House Bookmark
We are so excited to share a tutorial to make a bookmark from our friends at A Year and A Day Magazine. A Year and A Day is a seasonal Waldorf magazine for children that encourages curiosity and exploration of the natural world. Find the tutorial HERE.
January 11 - Ice Orbs
Brighten up the winter landscape with these frozen orbs. Fill balloons with water and plant-based food coloring and then either leave the balloons outside on a night that will be below freezing or put them in your freezer. When the ballons have frozen solid, cut away the balloon to reveal a beautiful colored orb.
January 12 - Snuggle Up with Tea and a Good Book
The days can be chilly, so there is nothing better than snuggling up with a hot cup of tea and a good book. See our perfectly paired collection of cozy stuffies and books HERE.
January 13 - Have a Calm Meditation Moment
Every year comes with hectic days and sometimes you can't seem to calm down. Take a moment with your little one today and reflect on the month and have a quiet hour of meditation.
January 14 - Make Salt Paint
Create an icy winter scene with salt paint. You can make your own salt paint by mixing 1 tablespoon of salt with 3 tablespoons of hot water. Paint with the mixture on dark cardstock, and when it dries, the salt crystals will cover the painting like an icy glow!
January 15 - Plant a Pocket Plot
Make a tiny garden in the lid of a tomato sauce or peanut butter jar lid. Place a damp paper towel and some sprouting seeds, like mustard or cress, inside the lid. Cover the lid and keep the paper towel slightly wet. You'll be amazed at how quickly the sprouts sprout!
January 16 - Go on a Winter Walk with Friends
The weather is crisp, but it is still nice to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. Take a walk with friends and see how many nature treasures you can find.
January 17 - Declutter and Reorganize Your Play Space
A lovely way to start your year off fresh and ready for new beginnings is to stop and reflect on the toys that are no longer being used, and seeing if you can donate them to be useful to another family.
January 18 - Have a Slow Sunday with a Pancake Breakfast
Take Sunday slow with a pancake breakfast for the whole family. See if you can make fun designs with the batter!
January 19 - Create a Felt Crown for Celebrations
Be prepared for any celebration with a felt crown that is ready for any birthday or play time adventure. Find the tutorial HERE.
January 20 - Celebrate MLK Day
Today is a good time to take a moment to slow down and reflect to see how you can become more involved in the community around you.
January 21 - Craft Merino Wool Handwarmers
Today we are sharing a special tutorial from our friends at Chasing Windmills. A Valentine you and your children can make by hand. Valentine's Day can easily become another holiday full of small, inexpensive trinkets and sweets that are quickly eaten or tossed aside, but we're here to show you that it needn't be that way! January 22 - Write an Ode to Winter Poem
Write a winter poem inspired by the senses; write about your favorite winter smells, tastes, sights, and textures.
January 23 - Make a Clay Heart Trinket Dish

January 24 - Warm Up the Fairies
It’s cold outside and the fairies would love it if you leave them some warm things to get them through the coldest months. Leave out gifts of wool roving, wool felt, or yarn for the fairies to wrap themselves up in. And if they don’t grab it, the birds will gladly fluff up their nests with it too!
January 25 - Volunteer at a Local Aid Center
Take a moment and see how you can volunteer and get involved with a local aid center. With all the blessing we are often given, it is nice to give back!
January 26 - Draw with Beeswax Crayons
Have fun drawing the day away with our Beeswax Crayons. What will your little one create?
January 27 - Make your own Walnut Boats
January 28 - Create Paper Snowflakes
Cut out paper snowflakes and practice your scissor skills and learn about the magic of symmetry.
January 29 - Play Dress Up and Put on a Show
Let your imagination run wild and put on a show for the whole family! Will they tell the tale of pirates, fairies, witches... who knows! Let them discover the stories that spark imagination.
January 30 - Make an Ice Flower Lantern
Take advantage of the chilly days with a lantern as cold as ice, but as beautiful as the spring flowers. This ice flower lantern is perfect for lighting tealights on the porch on a winters night.
January 31 - Make an Indoor Fairy Garden
Spring is coming but not quite yet. Tune up your fairy house skills by making an indoor fairy garden. Use a large planter and find some small house plants like ivy or rosemary. Then create some pathways and tiny furnishings, so the fairies can come inside to take a nap on the still chilly days.
