Watercolor Paint

Create any color of the rainbow with just these three primary colors, which were the only shades we ever used in my Waldorf kindergarten class. Part of the magic of watercolor painting is hearing a child exclaim, "Look, Miss Sarah, my water turned orange!" after rinsing his brush in a jar of water, while painting with red and yellow. Children are learning color theory in an experiential way, without any adult explanation.

These high quality paints are very concentrated. Mix a small amount of paint in a jar of water to reach desired intensity -- from pale pastels, to bright, vivid shades. The 50 ml jar is the best value and should last at least a year, even if painting weekly.
